Accommodation
Below is the accommodation featured on this holiday across all departure dates. Please refer to the Itinerary for more detail about each night's accommodation for each departure date.
Antalya is a large city on a low plateau surrounded by magnificent mountains. It has been an important centre since ancient times and has antiques from various ages including ancient city walls, a roman gate, mosques, churches and so on. The archaeology museum houses a fabulous collection of statues, tombs and other artefacts from the site and other sites in the area. The old town and harbour are charming. There are many places to explore including parks, the small souvenir and handicrafts shops and stalls. There are also many facilities you would expect including restaurants, cafes, shops and banks.
The Aspen Hotel is located in the centre of Kaleici; also known referred to as Old Antalya, situated in the heart of Antalya's lively historic old town. The hotel is a former Ottoman house, so has plenty of authentic Turkish character. The hotel is simple and has an outdoor swimming pool, a sauna and a lounge bar. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the swimming pool will be open during your stay. Hotels usually have WIFI in public areas but may be weak.
We stay in simple standard twin and double rooms with views of either Kaleici, the garden, pool or the yacht harbour. Single rooms are usually twin or double for sole use. Rooms are basic and smaller, and facilities include:
Fethiye is a modern town, rebuilt after being destroyed in a 1957 earthquake. It is set on Turkey's most turquoise coast surrounded by natural harbours and bays. There are still hints of its ancient cobbled streets and it is a well known tourist resort with many restaurants, cafes, shops and a market area. There is also a hospital, a post office and many ATMs.
The Yeniceri Hotel is a small and simple city hotel within a short walking distance from the main centre and close to the beautiful yacht harbour and the famous Calis Beach, where if you are lucky, you may spot the nesting areas for Caretta turtles. This modern hotel was refurbished in 2014 and is ideally located. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a swimming pool but you are a short walk from the beach.
You'll stay in standard twin and double rooms. Single rooms are usually twin or double for sole use. Rooms are basic and smaller, and include the following facilities:
Kas is a quaint and picturesque town situated in Southern Antalolia, known as the Pearl of the Mediterranean – where history meets nature and green meets blue. It is sheltered by the bay and at the foot of a steep south facing hillside. There is a marina, harbour and a small beach. There is also an ancient theatre and a nearby ruined Greek temple along with many tombs and other antiques. The rock tombs in the mountains are sometimes illuminated at night, making for an impressive sight! There are many facilities such as banks, tourist information centres, pharmacies, hospitals and markets (every Friday).
The Hotel Kekova is located in the centre of the quaint town of Kas, nestled between the sea and the mountains. It is 250 meters from the sea and the New Marina. The hotel is small and simple.
You stay in twin and double bedded rooms. Single rooms are usually twin or double for sole use. Rooms are basic and smaller, and are equipped with:
Adrasan is a village set along the coast of Kumluca with village markets selling local fruit and produce. Adrasan is very quiet and peaceful with 2km of beautiful sandy beaches and coves surrounded by pine trees.
The Buhana Hotel is situated in the beautiful Adrasan Bay, surrounded by unique nature and only 200 meters from the sea. The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools and is a few minutes' walk from the beach. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the swimming pool will be open during your stay.

Each evening, the leader will discuss with you the programme for the following day. If you do not wish to join the party, please let the leader know. Much of the terrain will be rough underfoot and there will be some river crossings. Trekking poles would be helpful to those who like to use them and may take some of the strain off your legs!
Local Transport Costs
In the holiday cost, we've included all local transport expenses related to the advertised activity programme for your convenience. If there are additional visits or excursions to enrich your experience, you can choose to participate and cover the costs locally. Depending on the itinerary, local transport may involve a mix of private hire coaches, taxis, local buses, and ferries.
Optional Excursions
At your destination, you may have the option to book various local excursions and activities through a local operator. It's important to note that we are not involved in these activities or excursions, and we do not operate, supervise, or control them in any way. Your contract will be directly with the local activity supplier, and we bear no responsibility for their actions or omissions.
Holiday Budgeting
All transport required for our advertised itinerary are included in the holiday cost. Entrance fees and any optional excursions will be at your own account, this way you only pay for the sights that you visit. Some walks pass through sites and require additional mandatory charges which are not included in the cost. Please budget for an approximate total of 250 Turkish Lire per person.
Lunches are not included and will be at your own expense. Spending money varies depending on each individual, however about £300 for the trip should be sufficient for lunches, drinks, any optional excursions, and entrance fees.
In order to simplify tipping, we strongly recommend that you allow your leader to take care of making sure tips are given to hotel and restaurant staff and to local guides and drivers. This will be done using some funds provided by Ramble Worldwide plus a contribution from you, which the leader will collect during the holiday. We suggest an amount of £30-35 per person for this, although this is a discretionary amount.
Currency in Turkey
The main currency is Turkish Lire. Euros are sometimes accepted in shops and hotels.
Turkish Lire is more convenient for for entrance fees, food, tips, drinks etc. They can be obtained from ATMS in larger resorts but not so available in smaller rural resorts. Please note that ATMs may charge a fee. Euros, pounds or dollars in cash are more difficult to change. Some restaurants, cafes, shops and hotels may not accept card so please have the option of cash and card for payments.
Tipping
In your holiday price, we've included tipping for our local suppliers, covering hotel and restaurant staff, local guides, and drivers. Should you wish to make an extra contribution for a specific service, this should be given directly to the recipient at your discretion.
Tour Leaders
Your tour leader plays a crucial role in enhancing your holiday experience, and they share your passion for exploring the world on foot. In addition to being resourceful and organised they are also well-travelled and deeply enthusiastic about showing you new destinations. Your tour leader takes care of all the local administration, ensuring you can fully enjoy your holiday without worrying about the logistics. Rest assured, they are all trained, qualified, experienced, and dedicated to making your holiday as enjoyable, interesting, and inspiring as possible. Remember, your leader, while on holiday, is your first port of call for any issues, ensuring a smooth and worry-free experience for you.
Leader's Evening Briefing
Each evening, your tour leader will meet with you to review the programme for the next day. This is your chance to discuss details and ensure that the planned activities align with your walking ability. If you have any concerns about clothing or equipment, feel free to bring them up during this discussion. If, for any reason, you prefer not to participate in the organised group programme, please inform your leader. Your preferences are important, and your leader is there to make sure your experience aligns with your expectations.
Local Guides
To enhance your experience, as well as your tour leader, each holiday will be accompanied by a well qualified and knowledgeable English-speaking local guide.
Flights are from London to Antalya and return.
Transfers between Antalya Airport and the hotel in Antalya are by road and will take approximately 30 minutes. Some flights will be met by the leader in the exit to arrivals whereas other flights may be met by a representative from our Turkish agent. We will confirm your arrival details once you receive your final travel documents.
As you travel between four hotels, and you will have to handle your own baggage, please try to travel reasonably light. You should be able to lift and carry your own luggage. At some hotels, the coach may have to stop some distance short of the hotel entrance. Also, within some of the hotels themselves, there may be some long walks between the entrance and rooms that may include some steps.
There will be a private coach throughout to take you to the start and finish of the walks.
If you intend joining and leaving the party in Turkey, we assume, unless you have advised us otherwise, that you will meet and leave the party at the first hotel in Antalya. If this is not your intention, please let us know in writing at least 5 weeks before departure.

If you prefer to arrange your own flights from a non-UK or regional airport or travel to your holiday destination by rail or car, you may qualify for 'land only' reductions, and we can provide details upon request. Feel free to reach out to us for more information.
Before finalizing any independent travel arrangements, especially if you're doing so 12 weeks or more before your intended travel date, please check with us first to ensure your holiday has been cleared to operate. If you're joining and leaving your holiday overseas, we assume, unless you specify otherwise, that you will join and leave the holiday at your hotel.
Although airport transfers are not included for those making independent travel arrangements, you may have the option to join the group at the overseas airport, depending on your flight arrival time. If interested, contact us at least 5 weeks before departure for more details.
Please be aware that your flight must arrive within 30 minutes of the group flight to be eligible for the group transfer. Additionally, we'll need your flight number, arrival time, and departure point to ensure the group leader can meet up with you. If you have a mobile, please ensure we have the number, and it is turned on while you are traveling for effective communication.

When you book a Flight-Inclusive holiday, transfers between the airport and hotel and back are included. On some holidays, where we offer various flight options, the transfer vehicle may wait for all flights to land before transferring to the hotel.

Breakfasts and dinners are included. Breakfasts are taken at the hotel and usually buffets consisting of local delicacies including eggs, cheese, meats, olives, salad, breads, jam and honey. Chy is Turkish tea and is often served at breakfast. Chy is less strong than the Indian tea we have in Britain and is drunk diluted and black with sugar.
Dinners will be taken in the hotels or local restaurants. You may experience local Turkish food in restaurants full of Turkish charm and character. Usually meals start with vegetable soup, freshly made bread and/or green leafy salads. Main courses are usually grilled meat or fish, usually accompanied by rice or vegetables. Stews are less common in this area and usually there is a vegetarian option, generally consisting of vegetables but can lack in protein and carbohydrates. There is usually a selection of Turkish desserts but most common dishes are fruit salads or Bakklava.
Lunches are not included and may be in the form of a picnic, taken at a cafe or restaurant, or at a local family's home which is greatly enjoyed and a special cultural experience. Please note that picnics should not be made from the breakfast spread but some hotels may happily make up "boxed" lunches for a small charge.
During the festive holiday dates, you enjoy a traditional Turkish dinner at a local restaurant on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A celebratory New Years dinner will be provided for you at your hotel on New Years Eve.
The above provides you with an idea of the accommodation to expect on your holiday. We will advise you in your final travel documents before departure if accommodation has changed from the above.

Lightweight waterproof walking boots with a good moulded sole (such as Vibram or similar) and a deep tread and which provide ankle support are strongly recommended and may be essential for some walks.

Water To Go
Opting for filtered water from a reusable bottle with its built-in water filter, like the Water-to-go bottle available at www.watertogo.eu, is a sustainable alternative to single-use sealed water bottles. Simply refill it from any water source and contribute to saving the environment from disposable plastic bottles.
Exciting news: Water-to-go has introduced two new bottles to their collection. The Active bottle is designed to fit bike water bottle holders, and the Sugarcane bottle is an even more planet-friendly option. Crafted from fibrous cane, a by-product of liquid extraction, it undergoes a process to create plant-based plastic. Explore the details on the Water-to-Go website for this innovative new range.
As a token of appreciation for your commitment to the environment, we've secured an exclusive 15% discount with Water-to-Go for you. Visit www.watertogo.eu and use the code RWH17 during your order.
