Mark Wood, the renowned explorer, has agreed to take up the position as patron of Ramble Worldwide Outdoor Trust.
Over 20 years Mark has undertaken expeditions to some of the most remote parts of our planet. He uses exploration for education, innovation, and inspiration by bringing the awe-inspiring experience of extreme outdoors environments to a wide range of people around the world to communicate just how special our planet is.
Supporting others less fortunate is something Mark builds into every expedition which resonates strongly with trustees’ and aligns with our ambition to enable access to the outdoors for people in ways they might not be able to achieve themselves.
Our shared values make for an exciting partnership, and we believe that by standing shoulder to shoulder we can encourage people from all communities to enjoy being active outdoors in whatever way suits them best.
On March 12 2024, Mark embarks on expedition SOLO100, an enormous challenge that will see him walking for 2000 km alone in the Arctic for 100 days, an endeavour that will test the limits of human endurance. During the expedition he will be collecting data including 100 ice core samples that will be studied by the some of the world’s leading climate change scientists.
When he returns in the summer, representatives of Ramble Worldwide Outdoor Trust will be working with him to inspire people to get outdoors and achieve things they might not be able to do themselves. Everyone has their own Everest to climb.
